Last Sunday on The Buzz, Queen of All Media Kris Aquino gave out a truly emotional statement with regard to her unending detractors. And in line with the said outburst of emotion, a rather intriguing declaration has been set out in the open: she actually had thoughts of leaving the entertainment talk show.

Though Kris was open with the said thought then, she had not confirmed whether or not the said plan will push through. All throughout this week, she remained mum on to the issue, thus leaving the public curious on whether or not she will be appearing on the next episode of The Buzz. And with the public’s intense interrogation on the matter, she finally decides to brave the press and say her piece.

In a short interview with Showbiz News Ngayon, Kris finally declares her decision on the matter. “No,” she straightforwardly answered with a smile upon being personally asked whether or not she will be out of The Buzz these succeeding weeks.

But as for her stint on SNN on the other hand, the public has to wait, yet again, for an official confirmation as she leaves everybody hanging with her statement: “Alam niyo po if there is one thing I’ve learned these past three weeks eh it is [the thought that] there is work for all of us. Ayaw ko pong maparatangan na sinakop ko lahat, na sinwapang ko lahat. . .Happy ako to share it (SNN) with them (Bianca Gonzales, Mariel Rodriguez and Toni Gonzaga who are currently filling in for her). . .[Ang pagbabalik ko sa SNN] nasa sa inyo po iyan kasi I think they are doing okay. It is still something we need to discuss.”

Gerald Anderson and Kim Chiu are not bothered about the fact that their love team is being pitted against that of Melai Cantiveros and Jason Francisco. The two are actually very fond of Pinoy Big Brother Double Up’s most popular couple. “Nakakatuwa sila,” Gerald said. “Very natural sa isa’t-isa nakikita ng mga tao na talagang tunay ang nararamdaman nila para sa isa't isa at ang cute nilang tingnan. Lagi silang nag-aaway pero parang nagtatawanan pa rin sila. ‘Yun nga nakakatuwa sila.”

“Maganda ‘yung relationship nila. Si Jason ang parang ganyan-ganyan; si Melai ang parang, ‘Huwag kang ganito, huwag kang ganyan.’ Nakakatuwa silang tingnan. Kahit nakakatawa, hindi sila nagtatawanan, parang natural lang nila ‘yon,” Kim added.

Kim and Gerald are both confident that the Melason love team will go a long way in showbiz, and Kim even added, “Iba talaga kapag galing sa PBB.” The two also gave their advice for Melai and Jason, who are still adjusting to the demands of their newfound fame. “I-enjoy lang nila kung anong meron sila ngayon and mahalin nila ‘yung mga nagmamahal sa kanila and they'll go along way,” Kim said. “Balita namin sila ‘yung may pinakamaraming members ng fans’ club kaya dapat nila ingatan ‘yon,” Gerald said. “’Yon talaga ang sikreto kasi hanggang sa huli andun ang mga fans nila [para sa kanila].”

Speaking of PBB Double Up, Gerald is also starring in a TV project with the rest of the PBB Double Up ex-housemates via Your Song Presents: Isla, including Sam Pinto, who has been vocal about her crush on Gerald. The Fil-Am actor said that Sam, and the rest of the ex-housemates, are fun to work with and are very eager to learn about acting.

This early, Gerald said that he could not yet identify who among the ex-housemates will excel in acting. “Well, ang nakikita ko sa kanilang lahat, talagang gusto nilang matuto. Gusto nilang umarte, gusto nila ang ginagawa nila. Nagsa-stand out? Wala pa namang ano… siguro panoorin na lang natin para malaman natin pero hands down ako sa kanilang lahat dahil focused sila as newcomers and gusto nila ang ginagawa nila.”

In the meantime, Gerald is both excited and nervous about his role in the TV series because it’s very different from his previous ones. “Kinakabahan siyempre sobradahil offbeat siya talaga, very dark, kakaiba talaga. Akala mo hindi pang-Your Song. Ganun kalupit ang storya namin and napakalalim.”

Immediately after Ruffa Gutierrez’ emotional good-bye yesterday on The Buzz, Kris Aquino herself has a share of an unexpected drama on the set. Aside from shedding tears for her co-host’s touching farewell message, Kris simply couldn’t contain the outburst of emotions with regard to the series of controversies that took place between them, which sadly dragged even the name of her brother, Senator Noynoy Aquino.

In between her sobs, Kris unexpectedly blurted a rather surprising revelation. Without further a due, she admitted that she’s actually having second thoughts with regard to her permanent slot in The Buzz. As she had put it to words, “Aamin po ako sa inyo, on my way here [at The Buzz], kausap ko tatlong kapatid kong babae, and I was saying I think I wanna say goodbye.”

According to Kris, the main reason behind this decision is actually the unending release of bad publicities concerning her, which greatly affects the name of her family as a whole. She said that she simply couldn’t take seeing her whole family affected because of her shortcomings, so she might as well take a leave while the heat is still on. She explained that she is very much willing to do the said sacrifice for her whole family’s sake, because as she herself claimed, “I’m not a brat when it comes to my family.”

Though her statement yesterday had proven her genuine intention to stand by her family’s defense, as of press time, there is still no concrete confirmation whether or not Kris will leave The Buzz.

Sinabi rin ni Kris na ikinonsidera daw niyang magpaalam na sa The Buzz dahil umano sa nangyayaring panggagamit sa kanya ng mga detractors laban sa kapatid. Tinanong daw niya ang kanyang tatlong ate, sinabi Ballsy, Pinky at Viel. “People always say I’m a brat but I’m not a brat when it comes to my family. Sabi ko kay Ate, ‘Ate, di ba sinabi ko sa inyo lahat gagawin ko para sa pamilyang ito?’” pahayag ni Kris na sinabing kapag sinabi nilang mag-sorry siya ay hihingi siya ng paumanhin kahit na sa opinyon niya ay wala siyang ginawang masama. Nabigyan daw siya ng lakas ng loob ng sinabihan siya ng mga kapatid na hindi siya quitter at kailangan niyang maging matapang.

“Masakit po sa akin na ginagamit ako para sirain ang pamilya ko. Nagbago naman po ako, eh,” paliwanag ni Kris habang umiiyak. “Everyday I tried to be a daughter that my mom deserved. Sana po nararamdaman n’yo kung gaano kalungkot talaga. Sana alam din n’yo kung gaano kahirap. I just missed my mom. Kasi kung andito si Mom, hindi ganito.”

Pinasalamatan din ni Kris ang kanyang mga kapatid sa patuloy na pagbibigay sa kanya ng lakas ng loob. “Sa lahat po ng pinagdadaanan, this election that I never wished for, sinabi ko, ‘Thank you, Ate, kasi love n’yo ko at hindi n’yo pinaparamdam na pabigat ako sa inyo,” share ng actress-host.

Umaasa rin si Kris na sana ay talagang matapos na ang naganap sa pagitan nila ni Ruffa noong nakaraang linggo. “Tapos na ho ‘yon at sana po tapos na pero alam ko hindi pa talaga tapos, eh.” Ibinahagi rin ni Kris pinadalhan siya ng mga bulaklak na may kasamang note na sana ay magkaroon ng peace sa pagitan nila.

Gerald Anderson denies knowing anything about his ‘supposed’ girlfriend

Gerald Anderson was not bothered when pressed by reporters about a photograph of him with a girl in a tabloid. The girl is being insinuated as his girlfriend. “I’m sure maraming pictures na marami akong girlfriends,” he explained at a recent press conference. “Marami din naman nagpapa-picture (sa akin), so hindi ko alam (‘yung isyu na ‘yan).

Gerald also said that he has nothing to say about this issue because he has long since accepted the fact that showbiz include controversies with no truth in them. “Kasama po talaga ‘yan. Kahit anong sasabihin ko ngayon ganun pa rin.”

On screen partner Kim Chiu supported Gerald’s explanation and added that as celebrities, countless fans would ask to have pictures taken with them and there is nothing they could do to those who become posers. “Siyempre wala naman tayong magagawa don dahil kahit sino puwedeng magpa-picture sa amin, puwedeng magpa-picture kay Gerald at saka pwedeng sabihing ganito ganyan, so okay lang.” Kim added that although they really work hard, they know that they cannot please everybody nor force them to like their love team and that they are fine with it. “Kami nagtatrabaho lang.”

Even before Gerald, Derek Ramsay appeared to have fallen victim to a similar scenario when his pictures with a girl—who was supposedly very sweet with him—spread on the Internet. Derek said that the photo was probably asked to be taken by some fans, who sometimes ask him to pretend to kiss or hug them.

Gerald Anderson said that his most memorable gifts for his recent 21st birthday, (March 7) were those given by on screen partner Kim Chiu, which included a golf cart and a Louis Vuitton bag. “Binigyan ako ng golf cart. Binigyan (din) ako ng LV bag na napakaganda pero hindi ko gagamitin kasi ire-reserve ko. Idi-display ko na lang kasi sayang, napakaganda,” the young actor joked at the press conference of his new endorsement Payless Pancit Shanghai, together with Kim, last March 11.

Aside from her generous gifts, Kim also made Gerald’s birthday really special when she organized a small party at Gerald’s house which was attended by their celebrity friends like Rayver Cruz, Matt Evans and Jay-R Siaboc, to name a few. Gerald said that he expected a party but was still surprised with the efforts that Kim exerted to take care of everything at the party. “Nagset-up siya ng karaoke, kulang na lang clowns. Sobrang ganda talaga,” Gerald humored.

As for her gifts to Gerald, Kim explained that she just wanted to return Gerald the favor when the Fil-American actor gave her a pink car for her 18th birthday. “Siyempre 21 na siya, parang wala pa akong pamalit na regalo dun sa pink na sasakyan, sobrang ibang gift ‘yon,” justified Kim. “Sabi ko mag-iisip nga ako, debut niya rin, eh. ‘Yun na lang (ang naisip ko) kasi lagi siyang umiikot sa village nila na naka-motor para maiba naman golf cart naman kahit wala sa golf course.”

When asked about her birthday wish for her leading man, Kim said, “Wish ko sa kanya good health kasi sobrang busy niya and siyempre sana hindi siya magbago dahil ‘yun ang minahal sa kanya. Sobrang bait niya.”

On his actual birthday, Gerald made it memorable when he decided to spend it with children with cancer last Sunday. He said that the experience taught him to be grateful for the blessings coming his way. “’Yung materyal na bagay hindi naman talaga importante. If you’re blessed, try to bless other people. Kung kaya mong gawin, work hard, receive hard, share hard,” he explained. Gerald said that the experience made him realize that life should not be taken for granted and that one should enjoy life.

Gerald Anderson matured in front of our very eyes, starting out as a teen housemate four years ago in Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition. Now he is tagged as the ‘primetime action-drama prince’ via the top-rating teleserye Kung Tayo’y Magkakalayo. Reporters who attended his birthday press conference noticed the lean physique of the 21-year-old actor, and Gerald elaborated about his fitness routine. “May gym ako sa bahay. Kapag may time nag-work out ako. I also play basketball.”

Aside from playing a budding detective in Kung Tayo’y Magkakalayo, Gerald is also staying fit in preparation for his role in Your Song presents Isla which will also be the launching show of the PBB Double UP ex-housemates. A video clip was also recently uploaded on the internet that showed a topless Gerald practicing with ‘arnis’ which will be part of his role in Your Song.

Following the success of his movie Paano Na Kaya with ka-love team Kim Chiu, Gerald signed a new contract with Star Cinema. There are rumors that there are plans of producing an action film featuring Gerald and the other young actors who appeared in the Agimat series. In Agimat presents Tiagong Akyat, Gerald did a lot of scenes involving parkour stunts. Gerald said that the Agimat movie project is still being planned, and nothing is sure at the moment.

But if it’s all up to him, Gerald would love to do an action movie, which is one of his childhood dreams. "Bata pa lang, mahilig na ako sa action, mga movies ni Jackie Chan. Ngayon, I have a chance para gawin ang mga ginagawa nila, talagang dream ko."

Sadly action movies don’t do well in the box office nowadays. For Gerald, aside from the high-adrenaline packed sequences, what makes an action film a hit with the audience is the story. “Ayokong gumawa ng basta action lang, gusto ko may drama, gusto ko maganda ang kuwento. Kumbaga, 'yung action, bumabagay lang sakuwento. Pero ang pinakaimportante dun e 'yung lalim ng kuwento, 'yung drama, kaya pangalawa lang 'yong action.”

When stories went around that Gerald Anderson was being eyed as Sarah Geronimo’s next leading man for a movie, many die-hard fans of Gerald and his ka-love team Kim Chiu raised their voices in protest. According to some claims, Sarah was reportedly upset by the harsh words said by some Kimerald supporters and what allegedly followed was the constant comparison between Kim and Sarah as to who is the more popular and bankable young star.

ABS-CBN.com asked Gerald what he thought of the supposed rivalry as it seems that he is somehow caught in between. “Hindi ko alam kung inaway nga talaga si Sarah [ng ibang fans namin]. Ang narinig ko lang is may mga fans na ayaw dun sa team up [namin ni Sarah]. Pero ang sa akin hindi natin mabe-blame yung mga fans. Yung mga fans ni Kim sasabihin siya ang mas magaling. Ganun din naman ang mga fans ni Sarah. Minsan aabot sa point na magaaway ang mga fans. Hindi sila papayag na mas malamangan yung idol nila.”

Gerald, Kim, and Sarah are all mainstays on ASAP XV. ABS-CBN.com then asked Gerald if there is any tension between him and the singer-actress brought about by the negative issue. Apparently, because of the hectic pace at the backstage of ASAP, most of the stars rarely have the time to chit-chat. “Hi-hello lang kami ni Sarah sa ASAP. Pero wala namang ilangan sa amin. Hindi naman kami nagpapadala sa intriga. Tuloy lang kami sa trabaho.”

Since emerging from Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition in 2006, Gerald and Kim have risen to become one of the hottest love teams in showbiz. After four years of being a love team, Gerald has been vocal about his willingness to be paired with other actresses, which he knows some fans might not approve of. “Hindi talaga magugustuhan yun ng maraming fans namin ni Kim, ha ha ha! Siyempre naman ang gusto pa rin nila kami pa rin ni Kim ang magka-partner sa mga projects. Sila talaga ang dahilan kaya kami successful ni Kim ngayon. Gerald Anderson was named Best Actor in a Teleserye for Tayong Dalawa in the first Student’s Choice Awards for Radio and Television of Northwest Samar State University. His ka-love team Kim Chiu meanwhile was named Best Actress also for the teleserye Tayong Dalawa. During his birthday press conference, Gerald expressed his overwhelming joy because of this recognition. “Mas nakaka-inspire ito para sa amin ni Kim. Sa mga students ng Northwest Samar State University, maraming salamat po sa pag-vote niyo sa akin. I’m happy na nagiging inspirasyon ako sa inyong mga students. Maraming salamat na rin sa lahat ng taga-Samar.”

Although he is happy about his Best Actor win, Gerald said that he doesn’t pressure himself to win many awards. “Kung looking forward [na manalo], hindi. But I will be very happy kung mabibigyan ako ng award. Pero kasi hindi ‘yun ang goal ko tuwing gagawa ako ng project. Ang gusto ko lang e makilala bilang isang magaling na aktor, kung may award man o wala.”

His “special friend” Kim recently won her first acting award as Best Actress for Tayong Dalawa from the USTv Awards. Gerald clarified that there is no competition between him and Kim as to who would get the most awards. “Hindi ko naman iniisip na dahil may award na si Kim kailangan ko na rin magka-award. Pero para sa akin inspiration ‘yun para pagbutihin pa ‘yung pag-arte ko.” The 21-year old actor-model added that he is happy about Kim success. “I’m very happy for Kim. Magkasama kami nung awards night sa UST. Sabi niya samahan ko siya sa stage, nahihiya siya siguro. Hindi ko na lang sinamahan. I just let her have her moment.”

Aside from winning an award for Tayong Dalawa, Gerald also earned recognition from the Philippine Psychiatric Association for his portrayal in the episode of Maalaala Mo Kaya entitled Lubid where he played a young man stricken with Tourette syndrome. In spite all the acclaim, the Fil-American cutie from General Santos City still believes he has a long way to go before he can be considered as a top-notch actor. “Hindi pa talaga ako magaling na aktor pero siguro I can say na mas magaling na akong umarte compared noon. Marami pa akong dapat matutunan. Marami pa akong gustong ma-absorb mula sa magagaling na actors at directors na nakakatrabaho ko. Malayo layo pa sa tingin ko ang lalakbayin ko.”

Instead of having an expensive and flamboyant party, Gerald Anderson decided to celebrate his 21st birthday with the children of Cancer Warriors foundation. He has been celebrating his birthday in the past years with cancer-stricken kids so this year Gerald treated them to party at Storyland at SM Fairview. “Nasa PBB (Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition) pa lang ako nung bumisita sila sa loob ng bahay. Binigyan kami ng task ni Big Brother na pasayahin ‘yung mga batang may cancer. I was so touched nung makasama ko sila because nakita kong na masayahin pa rin sila kahit may karamdaman sila, may pinagdadaanan silang delikadong kondisyon. Last year ginawa ko rin ito nung birthday ko. Pero nung premiere night ng Paano Na Kaya nag-organize ng party ‘yung Kimerald fans kasama ‘yung mga Cancer Warrior kids.”

Edgardo Ocampo, a coordinator for Cancer Warriors, expressed his gratitude to the young actor for making the sick kids happy even just for a day. “Tuwing birthday niya laging siyang nagpapa-party kasama ang mga bata ng Cancer Warriors. Ipinapakita niya na ang mga bata hindi sila nag-iisa sa laban nila against the disease. We are touched by his kindness. Sana hindi siya magsawa sa pagtulong sa amin. We wish that God showers him with more blessings para mas marami pa siyang natutulungan.”

Gerald will turn 21 on March 7, but he admitted that he has yet to make concrete plans for his special day. As much as he wants to have a private celebration with his “special friend” and ka-love team Kim Chiu, their hectic schedules may not permit them to do so. He may also be in for a big surprise if Kim has already bought a birthday gift for him. “Wala pa siyang nabibigay. Hindi naman ako nage-expect pero feeling ko naman magbibigay ‘yun. Generous naman ‘yan si Kim. Last year niregaluhan niya ako ng refrigerator na nilagay ko dun sa bagong gawang bahay.”

Since he has been very busy lately because of the teleserye Kung Tayo’y Magkakalayo, the recent box office film Paano Na Kaya, and the upcoming new chapter of Your Song Presents, Gerald has yet to have some quality time with his family. He may be able to finally do so next week when he flies home to General Santos City. “Patuloy kasi ang dating ng blessings kaya I’m taking advantage of it. Ayokong mag-complain. Baka next week makasama ko naman ‘yung family ko kasi uuwi ako ng Gen San. Titingnan ko ‘yung bahay na ipinagawa ko for my mom. Magsasama-sama kami, kahit two days man lang.”

Dubbed as the “action-drama prince” of television and one of the next most in-demand male stars, the Fil-American cutie has managed to remain humble despite the success and acclaim he has received in his four years in showbiz. “Ganito lang siguro talaga ako. Tingin ko kasi ang isang tao hindi dapat yumayabang kapag sumisikat o yumayaman na. Kapag ganun madi-disappoint ‘yung mga tao sa ‘yo. Kahit saan ka makarating dapat hindi mo kakalimutan kung saan ka nanggaling. Dapat patuloy kang maging thankful na dumadating pa rin ang blessings.”

Gerald Anderson recently signed a contract for his 16th endorsement to date, one for Dermablend Guava Tea Tree Soap. The Drama Prince was chosen for engaging in rigorous activities such as sports despite a very busy schedule. "Marami talaga akong ginagawa like basketball, jogging, mas [particular] ako sa cardio (exercises), gusto talaga mas physical yung mga ginagawa ko." According to Gerald, it is important for him to test the product and see its effectiveness first. “[I try the product] and if sobrang masaya ako dun sa quality and performance [then I agree to endorse it].

” Since his latest endorsement is all about hygiene and skin care, Gerald was asked if he considers himself vain. "Hindi ako vain at all. Minsan nga pinapagalitan ako dahil kahit anong suotin ko, kahit anong buhok ko, okay na yun, pero malinis akong tao. Dapat once or twice a month ako sa derma (clinic), pero hindi ako pumupunta kasi medyo busy tsakamedyo pagod kaya soap, water, shampoo lang. Minsan nga quick bath lang kasi minsan late na ako nagigising dahil puyat.”
